Collection of work/belongings

Please see the timetable below for collecting finished work and named belongings. Everything has been bagged up ready to go.

Items will be ready for collection from the school hall. Parents/pupils will enter and exit through the fire door straight into the hall from the playground (beside P1 area). Anyone in the class who has an older sibling, there belongings will be passed onto their sibling’s teacher and will then be collected at their allocated time. So please if you have an older child in the school. Check their slot as this is the time to collect.

Thank you!

Monday is here again…

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, it’s sunny this morning so let’s hope that it stays 🙂

Here is the learning overview for the week!

I am asking that children tap into the morning post or the google meets across the week, there are a number of children that I have not made a huge amount of contact with and I would really like to tap into them and see how they are doing.

Hello from me…

Hi everyone,

Just a little update to check in that everyone is doing okay?

It seems like the children have been really enjoying the wellbeing week this week and I have loved hearing and seeing all that they have been up to. It seems it has been really worthwhile.

I have loved being on meets with the children and it has been great to interact with them. I have changed the teams for next week as some of the groups are quite quiet. I will attach them here and if you can make a note of the day and time and hope that the children can make at least one of the meets through the week.

Next week the plan is to introduce fractions, work on an interest of ours and 5 ways to wellbeing- ‘Give’ focusing on the Hospice.

This week

Another week in and here is the learning for the week;

As always everything is optional and there is no pressure to complete or ‘hand in’ any of the work and I don’t want any families or children to be stressed at it. The work has been set for each activity across the week already and children can pick and choose when and what they complete.

For the children who like to hand in their work I have put a new announcement on the classroom where they post their work to slides across the week. Each child has been assigned their own set of slides and they can jazz them up however they please. My ones were a template for them. The stream is getting really busy with children uploading their work so this should keep it more manageable and allow me to see their work as a whole. So from tomorrow if you can encourage children to add their work to the slides I would really appreciate it. Just attach the photos as you would on the stream.

Google Meets have been going well, I have really enjoyed engaging with the children. I am going to trial little teaching sessions this week and see how they go. I have set the children a communication task as well, as I am aware some children have not been communicating with many from the class and I think it is very important that they keep this up. There is all different ways they can communicate; Google Meets, Hangouts, Facetime, Roblox?? Fortnite?? I don’t really  know much about those sides of things but I would love for them to be keeping in touch as much as possible.

I think that is it from me for now, I hope you are all safe and well.

Any problems, please get in touch.

Thanks again for all your support.

This Week’s Learning

Here is the learning for the week-

Again no pressure at all, the only thing I would say are priorities over others are spelling and Catscape activities.

I have also offered the children a superhero themed boxing workout on Wednesday at 2pm on Google meet. I have asked them to answer on the poll whether they are joining in. All the family can get involved. All they/you need is water, sports clothes, energy and you are guaranteed fun!

Learning Overview

Hi there,

I have added this to the classroom today so that the kids can see suggested activities, most of them will be up the previous day/night but some of them such as daily daft will be uploaded on the day. This should help those who have limited access to devices to plan the night before or if you are going to the hub etc you have things that you can do.

As I have said in the slides, there is no expectation for all of this to be done, it is suggestions that the kids can mostly do with independence. I will post bits up if I come across anything or think of something I know they might like to try.

Could you let me know if you are able to access this please and if you have seen it can you either write a comment below or hit the like button.

Have a great week!

Register

Just a little reminder that all children should be registering by 12pm each day.

There are a few children who still haven’t registered today.

Thank you

I love this idea!

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to spend some time in the sunshine. Let’s hope that it comes back this week. I have been loving hearing from the kids this morning and what they have been up to. Lots of cycling by the sounds of it, I wish I has a bike…

Week 3 already… who would have thought it.

A little note from Ms MacDonald- share this with your children and I will pop it on the classroom as an activity. Who doesn’t love a little letter in the post?!

I hope you all had great weekends and were able to make the best of the weather. In some ways it’s hard to believe we’re already in the third week of term!

I know lots of the children have been following the amazing fundraising efforts of Captain Tom Moore, who turns 100 this week. To mark his achievements, Royal Mail are using a special post mark on every letter posted this week. This sounds like a great excuse to practice some letter-writing skills and make contact with someone you haven’t seen in a while! Who could you send a letter or postcard to this week?

Hello

Hi everyone,

It has been a little while, so I thought I would come on and just check in with everyone and make sure we are all doing okay. I think we are getting the hang of life online and our GClassroom, slowly but surely.

We are almost at the end of week 2 of our GClassroom and as a whole I have to say it has been successful. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have been completing the learning that has been set but also there is no expectation for this to be done. I am very aware that we all have different circumstances at home and this may not be possible for everyone. But the activities are there for the children to complete or dip in here and there when they can. I am trying to make the activities as hands on as possible and active so that they are not spending large amounts of time at the computer. I have been enjoying seeing their Picasso style art today.

I am not expecting every single child to complete all that I set and I am certainly not wanting any parents to feel pressured to do so. Equally if children are feeling stressed by any of the work, just don’t do it. We don’t need any additional stress right now at all.

I have attached the learning that I aim to cover with the children over the next 4 weeks, this is just a guide as to what you may expect. I will add in some other fun tasks as well that may not have link to these targets but something I know the children will enjoy.

Term 4 Learning Overview P5 Weeks 1-4

On a final note, just across the week, it would be good for you to sit with your child (when you have a minute) and get them to show you our classroom. I have had to write a few comments about how we should be speaking in the classroom and remembering that if you don’t think it needs a comment then you don’t need to comment as each time a comment is made I get an email and it can be hard to decipher which ones need a response and which ones don’t. So I would appreciate a little reminder to your children about this as well.

We are in the process of coming up with our GClassroom Charter which will cover what our online behaviour will look like.

Thanks again,  if have any questions, please leave me a comment below and I will get back to you.
