We have got off to a great start for Careers Week.
We began the week with a chat from Mrs Devlin, she talked about her role as an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) and all the skills, qualities and experience she has had up until now. She showed us the difference between how they plan in nursery compared to school and how their learning looks compared to ours. Mrs Devlin is very experienced in her role but as the years have gone by her job title and her responsibilities have changed hugely.
Dragon’s Den
We then got together with Primary 4 and 4/5. We watched a clip of the programme Dragon’s Den, before we heard what our task was going to be. One of our branches of DYW is Tourism, hospitality and catering. Share with someone at home what you had to do. Looking forward to the finished businesses and pitches!
Today, we looked at the tourism side of things. We had to research up to 5 places to visit in and around Inverness if you were a tourist. We had to include what it is, where it is and why we would go there. Once we had gathered the information we had to then put it into a leaflet. These have been taken home tonight to finish. We had clear instructions and expectations so please support your child in finishing this please. The google doc is available on their classroom to get the information that is needed. Perhaps it has been a worthwhile task as we seem to not be very familiar with our local area and surroundings.
